The third letter in my A-Z managing with a toddler and newborn series;
C for Clothing
As we adjusted to a life of being a family of 4 and tried to get some sort of routine balance again.
We didn’t “dress” our newborn until she was 8 weeks old.
There’s nothing more stressful when your running late and rushing about the house. Getting yourself dressed, toddler dressed, baby bag packed and then waking up the baby who’s happily fallen asleep to get her dressed and out the door.
So why bother
All those cute small outfits that will only be “on display” when you take a million and one cute photos or for the time when baby is awake for that short period.
My baby girl lived in bodysuits, or baby onesie at my toddler calls them, round the clock from the minute she was born (okay so maybe like an half an hour after birth); until literally last week.
Not only did it save time and stress. It also allowed me to establish a routine which fits all of us.
Now she’s moved up a clothes size too!
And I’m glad I didn’t waste money on outfits she wouldn’t have worn.
She’s now dressed in day clothes and her bodysuits for night time; which has also helped to her understand day and night.
