What is a Shampoo Bar & How to Use it

I was sent a Almond Shampoo Bar from AA Skincare, it’s one of their eight out of their new range of Shampoo Bars.

What is a Shampoo Bar?

It’s a bar similar to a bar of soap.
The 50g shampoo bar is great for travelling, festivals or the gym.

There is one for all hair types:
Lifestyle – for itchy, dry hair
Twilight – for dry hair
Brilliantly Balancing – for greasy & oily hair
Botanical Boost – for all hair types
Intense Coconut – for dry/damaged hair
Illuminate Blonde – for dry and damaged hair
Almond – for dry, dull and damaged hair

What do I like?

The scent is lovely and not overpowering.
I like to shampoo my hair twice so I did with this bar too.
It lathes up really well and feels lightweight.

For the first time in a while I’ve combed my wet hair and there wasn’t any knots or tangles.
I even achieved a smooth flowery and hardly needed to use my straighteners!

This is the first time I’ve used a Shampoo Bar and I really like how my hair feels so much more manageable.

I choose the Almond Shampoo Bar as my hair is very bleached with natural roots.

The Almond Shampoo Bat is antioxidant rich to stimulate circulation in the scalp and encourage hair growth, it also features Omega 3 to strengthen follicles, leaving hair well hydrated and silky.

How to use

After wetting hair, rub shampoo bar between hands to lather (like you would with soap) and massage into hair.
Rinse and follow with conditioner if necessary.
Leave bar to dry ready to use again.

I’ll be taking this shampoo bar on our next holiday.
It’ll also save some space in my toiletry bag and won’t leak, win, win.

Where can I buy?

Visit the AA Skincare website to view the whole range of Shampoo Bars, which details at £5.94.

And other natural products they stock.

  1. This looks lovely. Good idea to use for traveling. I guess it would be better to take a brand new bar on holiday, with the wrapping still on, or you’d have to find suitable container to put it in. I love the sound of the almond one. Yummy! Really want to try this.

  2. This sounds amazing! I had never heard of a shampoo bar before. Totally with you on the luggge – I’ve been victim to a leaky shampoo before, not fun! x

  3. I have literally never heard of a shampoo bar before but it does seem pretty interesting!! reminds me of retro mascara that ive seen dotted about.

  4. Oh wow, I’ve never heard of one of these before but it sounds great. I think I’d need Almond also, I struggle to find a shampoo that will give my poor dry hair some extra softness, maybe this is the one!
